BRISTOL — Probate Judge William Hamzy
has announced that, effective Feb. 1, the Region 19 Probate Court will officially be renamed as the Bristol-Plymouth Probate Court.
“This name change more clearly identifies where our court is located and the communities we serve,” Hamzy said. “I’m excited we were able to implement this important change to make one
of Connecticut’s ‘people’s courts’ even easier to access by those who live in Bristol and Plymouth.”
The court will continue to be located at 240 Stafford Avenue in Bristol.
Hamzy said that the change was planned and prepared for several months, working with state and municipal agencies.
