Students may apply now for 2024 Society of Professional Journalists summer institute in Boston

Applications are now being accepted for 20 spots at the Society of Professional Journalists Northeast High School Journalism Institute in August in Boston.

The three-day program will be held at Emerson College, Aug 1-4.

Students will be trained by professional journalists and journalism professors in reporting, news writing, video and audio journalism, and multimedia production. 

High school juniors and seniors from Maine to eastern Pennsylvania are eligible. Journalism experience is preferred but not required.

The cost is $300 per student, which includes housing and meals. Students with limited means may be eligible for tuition waivers and free housing, meals, and transportation assistance. Scholarships are available.
