Tribute

Roger A. Brunelle, 92, of Bristol, beloved husband of Carol (Gustafson) Brunelle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
Roger was born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada on September 8, 1931 and was the only child of the late Ernest and Liola (Valade) Brunelle.

He immigrated with his parents to the United States at a young age and they settled in Bristol where he graduated from Bristol High School. Roger enlisted in the United States Army in 1952 when he was 19 years old. After his Army Service, he went on to work for local manufacturers, retiring from the Barnes Group in 1996.
He was a dedicated volunteer at Bristol Hospital for over ten years. He also served as a school mentor with the Bristol Board of Education, and was a long-time supporter and volunteer of the United Way. He enjoyed watching classic movies, had a fervor for muscle cars, and devoted his life to his family. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Ann Church, Bristol.

In addition to his loving wife of 67 years, Roger is survived by two children: Ricky Brunelle of Bristol and Robin Le and husband, Tam, of Goshen; two daughters-in-law: Colleen Brunelle of Plainville and Tammy Brunelle of Bristol; six grandchildren: Jennifer Kling, Ron Brunelle and wife, Shelby, Cory Wusterbarth and wife, Amanda, Kalee Marquis and husband, Dan, Carly Brunelle and Devon, and Richmond Le; three great-grandchildren: Cole Kling, Brooks Brunelle, and Jack Marquis; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sons: Randy and Ronny Brunelle; infant sons: Kenneth and John Brunelle; and a granddaughter: Jordan Brunelle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (February 17, 2024) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Friday between 5 and 7 PM.
