Tribute

Mary A. (May) Hopfensperger, 89, of Bristol, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 23, 1934 in Keansburg, NJ, daughter of the late George Gremminger, Mary (Broderick) Myers and John Myers. May was the loving wife of the late Kenneth P. Hopfensperger until his passing in 2004.

May was a radiant and loving presence in the lives of her family and friends. She always kept in touch with them through regular telephone calls and Facebook. She cheered for the UCONN Woman’s Basketball team and had a passion for The Game Show Network, especially The $100,000 Pyramid. She found joy in watching the birds from the kitchen window, especially the cardinals. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she celebrated every occasion with them. Christmas Eve, Easter egg hunts and Tuesday Game nights at Nanny’s will always be remembered fondly. She was a wonderful cook and a meticulous housekeeper. Her banana pudding dessert, Chili Soup, Chicken Noodle Casserole, Spaghetti Bake, Shepherds Pie and Christmas cookies were some of the family favorites. Her love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
