Sharon L. (Algren) Gray, 77, of Bristol, beloved wife of Charles H. Gray, died on Friday (February 23, 2024) at Hartford Hospital.
Sharon was born on August 12, 1946 in Naugatuck and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Arlene (Caouette) Algren.
She was raised in Naugatuck graduating from Naugatuck High School. She lived in Naugatuck raising her family until her move to Bristol with Charles in the 1980’s. She worked hard as a housekeeper raising her six children. She also served as Ombudsman in Naugatuck, New Britain, and Bristol.
She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Terryville, where she was past-president of the council. She was also active within the ministries of the church including starting the Small Angels Ministry, which gave away free diapers and formula.
In addition to her husband of 38 years, Sharon is survived by her children: Pattie Farkash and husband, Alex, Elizabeth Neto-Pereira and husband, Joe, Melissa Adames, Jennifer Devine, Robin Miessau, and Adalberto Rodriquez and wife, Carmen; three siblings: Arthur Algren, Susan DiStiso, and David Algren; 16 grandchildren: Cassandra, Michael, Alexis, Adrian, AJ, Nick, Audrey, Emily, Tiffany, Sara, Aaron, Arianna, Antonio, Mia, Jarrett, and Marco; many great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Tuesday between 6 and 7:30 PM followed by a service to remember at 7:30 PM.
Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bristol Youth Services, 51 High St., Bristol, CT 06010.
