Raymond was born on February 10, 1944, to the late Thaddeus and Marion (Dalger) Gorski of Bristol. He attended Bristol schools and graduated from Central Connecticut State University. In 1965, Raymond was drafted into the United States Army where he set up communication links between Vietnam and the Pentagon. In 1967, he was honorably discharged and returned to civilian life.

Raymond married his beloved wife Gloria DeRoche in 1971. They settled in Southington and raised two children, Todd and Lisa.  He retired in the early 1990’s from Aetna Life & Casualty where he was an information systems manager. He served on the boards of directors for Camp Hazen YMCA in Chester, Grace Congregational Church of Farmington, Plantsville Congregational Church and Wolcott Congregational Church. Raymond was proud to have donated over four gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.  Raymond loved coaching various Southington athletic teams including little league baseball, girl’s softball, soccer, and basketball. He also served as a YMCA swim official. He was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan.  He enjoyed tinkering with technology and bird watching from his dining room window.

Besides Gloria, his wife of 53 years, Raymond is survived by his son Todd Gorski of Watertown and his daughter Lisa Chaplinsky and son-in-law Drew of Southington. He is also survived by his two sisters, Susan Gorski and Patricia Leuchtenberger; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Gorski and Rachelle St. Pierre and brother-in-law Richard; and eight nieces and nephews.
