Linda M. Roman

November 11, 1953 ~ April 8, 2024 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Tribute

Linda M. (Pirro) Roman, 70, of Bristol, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 with her daughters by her side after a short but courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born on November 11, 1953 in Waterbury and was the daughter of the late George Pirro, Sr. and Phyllis (Tolassi) Pirro. She was predeceased by her husband, George Roman.

Linda is survived by her daughters Tara Ciarmella and her husband Jim of Terryville, Erica Zaffetti and her husband Dave of Simsbury; grandchildren Grace and Halle Ciarmella & Lucas and Emma Zaffetti; brother George Pirro, Jr. of Wendell, NC and several special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda was proud to be a registered nurse for the last 47 years. She was known for being so kind and compassionate and truly loved her patients. She had a strong faith and always believed that no matter what happened, God had a plan for her. She enjoyed singing in her church choir at Holy Trinity in Terryville and participating in the pit chorus of the St. Thomas Passion Play in Southington. She also loved to spend her Sunday afternoons watching NASCAR and cheering on Joey Logano. Her greatest love of all, though, was her family – especially her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than to spend time with Grace, Halle, Lucas and Emma. She felt so blessed to have them and was such a wonderful Mimi.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 beginning at O’Brien Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with a service at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 8 Maple St., Terryville. Burial will follow at Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol.

Erica and Tara would like to provide a heartfelt thank you to Linda’s special friends Joann and Paula who put their lives on hold to help take care of her throughout these unexpected and difficult months. They would also like to thank Linda’s nurse Michelle from Hartford Healthcare Hospice who showed such incredible compassion and always advocated for the best care.
