Aretas Culver Memorial Dedication & Concert

Aretas Culver Memorial Dedication & Concert

November 10 @ 1:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Headstone Dedication Ceremony – 1 pm at West Cemetery, Bristol, CT
Aretas Culver was a Bristol native who volunteered in the Civil War. He served with the ill-fated CT 16th Infantry at Antietam and perished from his treatment as a POW
at Andersonville. With the assistance of Veterans Strong Community Center, the family has been able to obtain a new headstone to replace the original stone that was weathered and worn.

Followed by Andrew McKnight in Concert – 6 pm at Bristol Historical Society, 98 Summer St., Bristol

Andrew McKnight is a singer/songwriter and 3rd great grandson of Aretas Culver. He uncovered his story researching his forthcoming album and book Treasures in My Chest. His grandmother Madeleine McKnight was a lifelong Bristol native and volunteered at BHS for many years. Learn more at www.AndrewMcKnight.net $10 admission to support BHS
