West End Association Meeting (63,124 Views)
Happy Holidays to all from the West End Association.
The next meeting of the West End Association will be on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Riverview Apartments on Laurel St. at 7:00 PM. This will serve as our annual meeting and there will be Pizza! Bring a small portion of Xmas cookies for an exchange and eating. Not a lot, we are all on diets. LOL
As the new year approaches we have many reasons to give thanks. We have reelected Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, Congratulations!, and a city council of hard working, Bristol minded people who I am sure will do an excellent job of providing for Bristol and its residents. Congratulations on well run campaigns that stuck to the issues and completed a non acrimonious election. Well done!
Speaking of elections, it is time to elect new officers to the West End Association. If there is any interest in becoming an officer of the Association, please contact Gary Lukasiewicz or Ira Morrison. Your name will be added to the slate of officers to be presented and voted upon at the December 12 meeting.
We have many items on the December agenda. Here they are:
We will have the latest DOT map of the RT72/RT69 intersection available for you to inspect. This project will greatly enhance the safety and quality of the West End. There is still time to make suggestions about landscaping, parking etc. Please try to attend and see the construction that will be starting next year. The West End Association has been very active in this project from it's inception in the West End Study, to the completed design we now have in front of us.
We will have TASTE OF BRISTOL tickets!!!!!!! Just in time for holiday stocking stuffing! Also make great grab bag gifts and employee gifts. We have over 40 restaurants this year and they are still at the same great price of $5.00
Since this is the last meeting of 2019, we will be conducting elections at this meeting. Normally we conduct elections in January at the annual meeting, but since we have extraordinary circumstances (I will not be here to conduct the election according to our bylaws) we will need to hold the elections now.
We will not be holding a January meeting. The next scheduled meeting will be on Thursday, February 13, 2019. Save the date! Meetings in 2020 will be on the second Thursday of the month at Riverview Apartments on Laurel St. We will meet in February, April, June, July, August, October and December. Save the dates!

The Angels' Return (81,328 Views)
Liberty Baptist Church on 265 Maple Avenue in Bristol, presents a family friendly play that will warm your heart this Christmas. There are only two performances this year, and both performances are at 5:00pm. A year ago two angels, Angela and Debra, found themselves on a mission to keep a homeless shelter open. They did so with the help from a busload of stranded travelers and a couple of lovable bums. Now, a year later, the angels have returned for a happy reunion party which turns into assignment number two. The shelter owner's son plans to commit his father to an asylum and sell the property for a profit. Aaron is being influenced by a demon who is posing as an attorney. It's an even tougher undertaking for Angela since the demon is one she has yet to defeat in spiritual warfare. But this Christmas the demon is defeated by the angels and those at the mission, some of whom discover for the first time the power of prayer and God's love.
