The Connecticut 169 Club: Exploring CT

Author and historian Marty Podskoch returns to Manross with a presentation and book signing of Connecticut 169 Club: Your Passport & Guide to Exploring Connecticut. This travel book encourages people to visit all of the towns and villages of our beautiful and unique state. Short descriptions written by locals highlight each town. Travelers can journal about their experiences and get the book stamped or signed by a resident or business.

People who visit all 169 towns will receive the Leatherman Award patch at a luncheon or dinner held at a different town each year. Please register in advance by visiting or calling the library at 860-584-7790. Free.

Museum After Hours: Lecture, Tour & Music Series

July 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The New England Carousel Museum lecture series, held on the second Thursday of each month in 2019 will feature presentations, exhibition openings, artist talks and workshops. Join scholars and experts as they share their vast knowledge of the art and history of carousels, carvers, artists, and your favorite carousels. Museum After Hours will be held from 6:00-7:30 PM with a wine and cheese reception taking place 6:00-6:30 PM. Admission to this series is included with general admission, and as always museum members are free.

•August 8 – E.J. Morris, preserving his legacy
•September 12 – Behind the Scenes: Sneak Peek at the NECM Restoration Department
•October 10 – Tour the Museum of Fire History
•November 14 – TBD
•December 12 – Chamber Music in the Gallery, with Blackledge Music, Inc.
